1st Circuit
January 27th Building Your Career & Makeup Basics
Makeup artistry isn’t only about making pretty faces. There are many important, small things, often overlooked, that lend themselves to a successful career. We will cover sanitation, what to have in your kit, what to expect on set, how to market to clientele, brush usage, color theory, products, how to choose what to have in kit, makeup brands, how to network, and how to work with different clients.
(4 hours, mostly lecture, not really hands on, for those that want a career as a professional freelance makeup artist )
February 16th and 17th The Beautification Process
Learn the steps of taking natural beauty to bombshell over a two day course. We will cover contouring, eye shapes and shadow placement, brow shaping, lip shaping, false lash application, skin tones, skin care, color matching, and much more. We will also cover dramatic looks and demure looks and have a photographer on hand to take pictures of your work for your portfolio at the end of the class.
(2 Days, 4 hours each)
March 24th Bridal
We will cover bridal makeup trends, marketing to brides, big bridal seasons, different bridal looks, day vs. night weddings, makeup application, false lash application, how to handle to dreaded ‘Zillas, and ethnic weddings.

April 14th Airbrush
A great addition to your repertoire of artistry, airbrush makeup is a growing trend among brides, celebrities, and salons. Learn airbrush basics, machine parts, sanitation, color matching, products, and the application of blush, contouring, and foundation.

May 19th Ethnic Skin
Often makeup artists are intimidated by darker skin tones. Even those with ethnic skin can have a hard time finding makeup brands that provide a great foundation match for their skin tone. We will cover color matching, best foundations for ethnic skin tones, great eye makeup colors for ethnic skin tones, application, common ethnic skin conditions like pigmentation, folliculitis, and melasma, and how to correct and cover with makeup.

June 15th and 16th Portfolio Building Class
1st day, Bridal & Natural, 2nd day, Dramatic, Avant Garde; a very short lecture and demo will be given at the start of each class but most time will be reserved for students to practice their own makeup and get photos taken by the photographer we will have on set. This class is designed for those that have previous makeup experience as we will be covering just application and not basics.
