FAQs

Why Use A Professional Makeup Artist?

A Professional Makeup Artist has been certified in all facets of makeup and knows how to create the perfect, customized look for you that accentuates all of your best features using your skin tone, face shape, and eye shape/color and caters to your event.  A Professional makeup artist also practices the strictest hygiene measures and uses products for longevity to keep you looking flawless for hours and that will stand up to kisses, tears, and perspiration.

Do You  Offer A Consultation Before Your Services?

I do, but I do charge a small fee for them. I require a consultation for bridal services and try to schedule it at least 1 month from the wedding date.

When Is Payment Expected?

At the time of the consultation, I take a consultation fee of $75.  If you decide to book me, I take a 50% deposit of the total services to hold your wedding date, and your party’s time frame.  If within 3 days of the consultation you decide to go a different route with makeup, this deposit is refunded to you minus a $75 consultation fee.  After the 3 days, this deposit is nonrefundable, and is deducted from your total.  The final balance is due two weeks before the wedding date and will be sent to you in the form of a Paypal invoice that you can pay online.  Day of the wedding, any tips should be in the form of cash or check and put in an envelope before being given to Rachel.

How Large Of A Party Can You Do Makeup For?

I’m used to working with large bridal parties and can accommodate parties of any size. However, for really large parties, timing may be an issue and for a small fee I can bring an assistant with me to accommodate your party.

What Should I Expect To Happen At My Bridal Consultation?

During the bridal consultation, we’ll look at your makeup likes and dislikes, your dress, flowers, colors, and hair to create a bridal look that’s you, from very natural to bold temptress. We’ll do a complete makeup run-through to make sure everything is perfect for your special day and discuss details such as time and location. If you would like, have pictures on hand of makeup you like and don’t like, and pictures of your dress, hair, and colors. I suggest booking the consultation on a day you’re going to go out someplace special to show off your gorgeousness.  The consultation takes about 90 minutes.

How Do I Go About Booking You?

Your wedding date is not booked until your deposit has been paid and contract signed.   Once paid and the contract has been signed, your wedding date and time slots for each party member will be booked.  I cannot hold wedding dates without a contract and deposit as I received numerous inquiries for weddings.  If two clients want the same date/time, the booking will go to the client that has signed and paid their deposit first.

Do You Offer Airbrush Makeup?

I do use airbrush foundation and prefer it.  I also use airbrush  blush/contouring/highlighting. I do not airbrush eye shadow. See below about the benefits of airbrush makeup vs. traditional makeup.

Why Is Airbrush Makeup Better Than Traditional Makeup?

Since airbrush makeup is sprayed onto the skin instead of being rubbed onto the skin, it doesn’t magnify pores and it allows your skin to breathe.

Traditional makeup often feels thick and looks caked on and noticeable, whereas airbrush makeup blends onto your skin perfectly, giving you flawless coverage and creating a seamless veil of color over your skin.

Airbrush makeup gives over 18 hours of wear, is water resistant, and doesn’t fade or rub off onto clothing. Wiping away or blotting any tears, perspiration, or moisture will leave the makeup in tact.

Airbrush makeup needs very little powdering and virtually no re-applying.

It looks natural on camera, video, or in person, as if you’re wearing no makeup at all and have perfect skin

It can cover almost any skin imperfection without looking unnatural or cakey.

Do You Offer Hair Services?

No, but I can recommend a few great stylists.  Try Todd Tinnel or Jena Dobson, two of my favorite stylists that do amazing work and I work with often.

Do You Travel?

I do travel within a 50 mile radius from area code 85037 without extra charge. Travel outside of these areas incurs fee.  Click here to see travel fees.

What Brands of Makeup Do You Use?

Primarily Make Up For Ever, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Temptu,  MAC cosmetics, and Julie Hewitt. I am constantly adding new products to my kit to keep up with the latest trends. Please let me know if you have ANY allergies whatsoever. There may be something in a product that you wouldn’t suspect would bother you, so please let me know!

What Hygiene Measures Do You Practice For Your Tools?

Client safety is first and foremost to me, therefore I practice strict hygiene measures. I thoroughly sanitize my hands before touching a client’s face and a various periods while applying makeup. My brushes are thoroughly washed in between each appointment and are sanitized with Parian Spirit brush cleaner between each client. Mascara is applied with a mascara fan brush that is sanitized between each client, and cream products are used with a palette knife.

How Much Do You Charge?

Depends on type of service/event. Please see weddings for wedding services and rates, commercial services for photoshoot rates, aspiring artist classes for class rates, and skin care services for skin care rates.

What Method Of Payment Do You Accept?

Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Cash, Check.
