Lime Crime – So bright, it’s illegal???

I had an itch the other day to buy some makeup (you can never have too much) and looking through my usual sites, Sephora, Make Up For Ever, Camera Ready Cosmetics, when I decided let’s see what Amazon has to offer.  Looked up “Eye Shadow” on Amazon when this pigment popped up…one that was so dazzling and gorgeous, I knew it had to be mine!

The color is called Dragon Scales and it’s from a company called Lime Crime.  Further search of the company revealed more beautifully colored pigments.  So, I decided to go to their website, www.limecrimemakeup.com.  Their motto: So bright, it’s illegal.  They have 23 eyeshadow pigments, which they call Magic Dusts, all gorgeous and I couldn’t live without.  So, I did what any makeup artist who found something they couldn’t live without did, I busted out the credit card and bought all of them (saving $50 for buying all 23).  Shipping was fast, 3 days.  They arrived today; time to play!

First off, the containers are super cute and just looking at them, the pigments all looked bright and beautiful.  Tested a few colors on my hand; super bright, metallic, went on smooth…now the real test.

Results were gorgeous!!!!  I used the colors Siren, Fairy Wings, and Medusa…and I am love, love, lovin’ this line of makeup!

All in all, the magic dust pigments are wonderful!  Super bright, easy to blend, gorgeous colors, goes on smooth, and has staying power (but still always use a primer).  I have yet to try their lipsticks, but soon.  One downfall, they are loose powder pigments so it can get messy.  Make sure you have your fan brush handy to sweep away drop-off.  Even better, use extra powder under your eyes, that way, you can sweep away the powder if the pigment falls.  Make sure you pat the pigment on your eyes rather than sweeping it on for a more intense color.

These are some of the brightest pigments I’ve played with and will definately turn heads.  The colors are all super fun!  Lime Crime has definately earned it’s motto!

    Hola Rachel!

You look amazing with the color combination you chose. All the colors offered by Lime Crime look interesting and fun to play with, but I think it takes a critical and creative eye to know how to pair them for a beautiful outcome. Good job, darling :)
