The Exaggerated Cat Eye

This year is flying by so fast.  Fall Collections have already hit the runways showing the makeup trends for the season.  One of my faves, the exaggerated cat eye as done by Devi Kroell.  This eye is extreme and dramatic and totally fantastic!   There were lots of really neat makeup looks for the upcoming season that I’ll demonstrate in other blogs, but this by far is my fav.  I love winged looks.  Seems color trends for fall are lots of blacks, bronzes, golds, oranges, and reds.  Lips; nude, matte.  Dark purple, glossy (confession by Urban Decay is a good choice for that). Or, using your foundation, blend out the lines of your lips and then just put a pink or red stain in the center of your bottom lip, press, and you have a sweet, bitten look.

For my eyes, I didn’t go as dramatic as the above pic, and I added some color to it.  I start with a light shimmery base that I dusted over my entire lid up to the brow.  Then, I used my liquid lining pen (I think they are the easiest when creating a winged eye) starting where I wanted the wing to end and drew towards the center of my eye.  Imagine a line that starts from the corner of your nose and continues towards your temple; follow that line.    So people also use tape to make sure they’re lines and straight and even.  Do the wing first, then draw a thin line from the inner corner of your eye that meets the liner in the center.  Then a took a small angle brush, got it wet, and dipped it in a bright turquoise pigment.  I followed the line from the inner corner of my eye to the center.   Then I just highlighted my water line with a silver shadow and added mascara. TaDa!  Done and beautiful!
