The Girl Behind the Brushes…
Hi, I’m Rachel! I’m a professional freelance makeup artist and aesthetician. I’ve been doing makeup and skin care for 6 years now and feel so fortunate to be able to do something I love! I do makeup for all events and occasions, however weddings are very special to me. I adore my brides and love to help them feel confident, radiant, and beautiful for their big day. There will be a hundred cameras flashing and a million pictures taken, and I want to make sure my brides and their parties look vibrant and stunning in every one.
I’m very happily married to the love of my life, and my best friend since freshman year of high school, Stephen. I have one beautiful daughter who’s the center of my world, Sophia. My top five indulgences are reading (I absolutely love Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter novels), listening to music (I love some heavy bass, Dubstep is my fave), shopping, Milka white chocolate bars, and, of course, makeup.
I’m originally from Las Vegas, but have been fortunate enough to travel the world. My husband and I have had many adventures across Europe and Africa. We met tons of interesting people in all over Europe, examined many different cultures, and made some great friends. Great memories of good times will be with me for life…
We’re happy to be back in the states, even though we do miss the European lifestyle. It’s way more chill over there. Here, I’ve been able to go to school and obtain my esthetics license and professional makeup artistry certification. Now, makeup and skin care make me happy and I love being able to do something I have such passion for.
Rachel’s Makeup Story
Rachel’s career in makeup and skin care started in 2009, after receiving her aesthetics license and professional makeup certification from the Skin and Makeup Institute of Arizona. It was during that schooling that Rachel discovered her love for makeup. Since then, she’s never been far from her brushes, and has continued to perfect her skill working with many amazing brides, photographers, models, and stylists in the Phoenix and Las Vegas areas. She’s done work for Covergirl, L’Oreal, 7 For All Mankind, Betsy Johnson, Hard Candy Makeup, Selita Ebanks, has had work published in several magazines, and has had work featured on Vogue IT. Rachel also taught specialized monthly makeup classes at the Skin and Makeup Institute of Arizona for three years, where she shared her knowledge of the industry with other aspiring artists. Whether it’s a high fashion photoshoot or a bride’s special moment, Rachel’s passion for makeup shows in every brushstroke.
